Morrowell tracks the assets you own, so we end up holding sensitive financial data on your behalf. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, who sees it, and what you can do to control it.
We collect what you give us directly: your name, email address, and account credentials when you sign up.
We collect technical data automatically when you use the platform: IP address, browser type, device information, and basic usage patterns. This keeps the service running and helps us debug.
If you connect a brokerage account, we read the portfolio and holdings data you authorise through your broker's API. We do not see or store your brokerage credentials.
To run the platform: holdings sync, digests, theses, research, and everything else you signed up for.
To personalise what you see: insights and digests keyed to your portfolio, not generic market summaries.
To communicate with you about your account, security events, and major product updates.
To improve the product: aggregated, de-identified usage patterns help us decide what to build next.
To meet legal and regulatory obligations, and to protect users from abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. Full stop.
We share data with the service providers we depend on to run the platform — hosting, analytics, transactional email — under strict confidentiality terms. They process data on our behalf, not for their own purposes.
We may disclose information when legally required, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of Morrowell, our users, or third parties.
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, and read-only broker scopes. Access to production systems is limited and audited.
That said, no system is perfectly secure. We won’t claim "absolute security" because nobody can. We will tell you promptly if something goes wrong.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management.
We use a small set of analytics tools to understand how the platform is used. You can disable non-essential tracking in your browser; it won’t break the product.
Access, update, or delete your data any time from your account settings.
